I. GLORY TO GOD

Glory to God
Glory in the highest
And peace to His people
His people on Earth
Peace, peace to all good men
Giving honor to the Father
Showing kindness to His creatures
And hoping for the coming
Of the Son, the Son of God!
Gloria gloria
In excelsis Deo
Et in terra pax hominibus
Bonae voluntatis!
Et in terra pax hominibus
Bonae voluntatis!

Peace on Earth
Good will and blessing
To all on bended knee confessing:
He is the Lord!
He is the Lord!
Glory our song!
He is the Lord!
Lord You have come!
Lord You have come!
Glory to God!

Angels on high
Sing "holy holy"
See who lies there
In stable lowly
He is the Lord!
He is the Lord!
Honor to Him
He is the Lord!
Glory to God!
Lord You have come!

II. FEAR NOT!

A bitter winter night upon these dark hills
We watch our sheep above the sleeping town
Shivering around the crackling campfire
We listen to the ancient song of wolves
And then we see a sight too strange for telling:
The sky above begins to fill with light
We had to close our eyes - we were too frightened
Until we heard the angel song of Peace!

But what is that we see?
And what is that we hear?
No place to run and hide
But the song is a song of Peace!

Fear not! Fear not!
For we are sent to bring Good News
To bring Good News of the greatest joy
Greatest joy!

Today in the town of David
A Savior shall be born to you
Who is Christ the Lord
Who is Christ the Lord!
And this shall be a sign to you
This shall be a sign to you:
There you will see
A new-born Infant
Wrapped in swaddling clothes
And lying in a manger
His Name is Christ the Lord!
His Name is Christ the Lord!

All creation will bow down to Him
And every knee on Earth shall bend
Before Christ the Lord
Before Christ the Lord!

Though we heard the song we could not comprehend it
But strange to say our fear had taken flight
The Peace of God that passes understanding
Now filled the hills and valleys on that blessed night

We wanted to go see this wond'rous Baby
But we knew it would be wrong to leave our sheep
Till a kindly angel came to reassure us
No harm would come to them while we were gone

And as we run headlong
Down the dark rocky hillside
With a new star to guide us
Like a lamp in the heavens
When we come to the stable
We see a Mother and Baby
And Joseph beside them
And kings kneeling to worship

Fear not, the angels sing
The Love of all time is here
Let shepherds and kings adore Him
Amen! Amen!
Now and forever!
Amen! Amen!

Venite adoremus
Amen! Amen!
In saecula saeculorum
Amen! Amen!

III. SONG OF THE OX

Alleluia:
What does that word mean?
Alleluia:
I don't understand!
Song I've never heard
Midnight sky filled with light and voices:
Glory to God in the highest
And peace to His people on earth
Peace to His people on earth

But Alleluia:
What can that word mean?
And Who is this Child
Who sleeps in my manger?
Who are these strangers
Who kneel down before Him?
Has He a name? Why does He smile?
Why do I feel as though I love Him?
He wakes and reaches out His hand to me
To stroke my nose
Then something old and wonderful
Stirs deep in me:
Now I understand! Now I understand!
Now I understand!

IV. IN THE STABLE

Sleep sweet Babe and pay no attention
To wise men, angels, cattle, or star
Hard the life I know is before You
Word become flesh sent from Heaven afar!

But for now the world does not know You
You're still my Babe, so sleep while You can
Joseph and I will watch and protect You
Wond'ring in silence at God now a man!

Close Your eyes while clutching my finger
Dream the dreams that no one may know
God's Child, my Child
Marvel and myst'ry
Child of all mankind Who loves us all so!

Thank you, shepherds:
Thank you for your kindness!
Gift of straw and shelter
Warmth in frost of winter

Kings, we thank you
For distance you have travelled
Precious gifts you offer
Tidings you will carry

Shepherds, kings, and gentle beasts
Angels from the throne of God
Adore with us this blessed night
As God's own Son lies sleeping!

V. CHILD OF PEACE

Emmanuel
Sweet Child of Peace
Oh listen while we sing:
The sky is bright
With angel host
Hosannah to our King!
Oh listen as they sing:
Gloria gloria
In excelsis Deo
Et in terra pax hominibus
Bonae voluntatis!

Now we sing, joyous:
Our Day of Redemption is here!
Our Day of Redemption
From darkness and sorrow is here!

Emmanuel
Sweet Child of Peace
We welcome You, our King!
We join the song
Of Heaven's host
We hear all creation sing:
Alleluia
Welcome this Baby
Alleluia
Welcome our King!
Alleluia
Sing with the angels
Alleluia
Welcome our King!
