(3) Many of the tunes in this publication are "gan ainm" (unnamed or name not known). Since archiving such material is impossible, I have taken th liberty of supplying names where needed. I have tried to keep these names as closely related as possible to the musicians who provided them. Since of course this is not a perfect system, I am always happy to make any corrections that may be brought to my attention. (4) Tunes with an A tonality are occasionally ambiguous as to their exact nature, i.e. A major, A "modal", or A minor, or some combination of any of these (same problem is common in O'Neill's collections). Sometimes the playback suggests one preference over another. I have done my best to deal with this situation but in many casesthe result is an "educated guess"! (5) "% ABA" is BB shorthand for instances where a segno/DS or DC instruction indicates a replay of the A part (usually once even if repeat sign is present).
